On Thursday, May 2, 2024, Leadership Geauga presented a $10,025 check to the Foundation for Geauga Parks. The donation will be made possible through the 2024 Emerald Ball’s Call to the Heart portion of the live auction on March 1, 2024.

Each year, Leadership Geauga names an Emerald Leader at its annual Emerald Ball fundraiser. This year, the 2024 Emerald Leader was Lee Imhof. Lee Imhof has deep roots in Geauga County, including serving 13-years on the Berkshire Board of Education, helping to found Leadership Geauga and the Geauga Growth Partnership, and was the previous business owner of Troy Chemical Industries. Lee chose to have the Foundation for Geauga Parks as the beneficiary this year.

Leadership Geauga is committed to promoting community leadership and engagement through leadership development programs, community events, and partnerships with non-profit organizations.

“The Foundation for Geauga Parks (FGP) is so grateful to Leadership Geauga and Lee Imhoff for these funds that will help support our overall mission. In addition to the grants we award and the nature education programs and scholarships we fund,  the ability to use this gift toward our operational needs will provide needed stability that allows us to show up when the community needs us most,” shared by Christine Davidson, Executive Director of FGP.

“We are thrilled to support the Foundation for Geauga Parks through this donation,” said Meredith Ashkettle, Executive Director of Leadership Geauga. “It’s important that The Foundation for Geauga Parks continues their efforts of education and conservation in our county.”
