Welcome to the Leadership Geauga Board of Trustees Mark Halford
Leadership Geauga County recently named Mark E Halford to its Board of Trustees. Mr. Halford is a Marketing and Business Analytics professional, currently serving as the Development Data Manager for The Cleveland Orchestra. Prior to The Orchestra, Mark spent 19 years in varying roles at Progressive Insurance, assisting their Special Lines Division to triple in size for both premiums and policies in force. Mark received his Baccalaureate degree in Arts from Bowling Green State University in 1993 and is a 2008 graduate of the Lake Erie College Parker MBA Program. He takes great pride in being an alumnus of both institutions.
Mark is an avid power boater, sail racer and member of Chagrin Lagoons Yacht Club in Eastlake, Ohio where he served as Commodore in 2011. He enjoys being active in the Chardon community, where he is a Board member and Secretary of the mental health agency Family Pride of Northeast Ohio. He has worked for the Geauga County Board of Elections for over 25 years in tasks ranging from pre-count ballot preparation to Election Marshal. For the past five years, Mark has been a coach of Chardon Schools’ renowned Science Olympiad team. His recreational pursuits and interests include cooking, music, reading, astronomy, satirical writing, history, playing horn with the Snowbelt Musical Arts Association, wine and spirits, art, bow ties, and being the teacher, confidant, and biggest fan of his daughter, Reagan, who is a Junior at iSTEM Early College High School and a current member of the Leadership Youth Class of 2019. Mark is married to Paula Newell Halford (Leadership Class of 2012) and the family lives in Chardon.
