LEADERSHIP Geauga County

Applications
LEADERSHIP Geauga County requests that completed applications are submitted by August 7, 2010 for review by the Selection Committee. If necessary, interviews will validate the candidacy of applicants. A list of proposed candidates will be submitted to the Trustees for final approval. Applicants will be notified of their status by mail in August. High school juniors selected for LEADERSHIP Geauga County Youth Program class must complete a series of requirements to be eligible for enrollment. Orientation/Retreat
Orientation will be Thursday, October 21, 2010. This is a full day session. The retreat will be all day on Friday, November 5 (overnight lock-in) and Saturday, November 6, 2010 location to be determined. Attendance at the complete orientation and retreat sessions is mandatory.

Monthly Sessions
Beginning in December and ending in June, the monthly all-day sessions will be held primarily on one Thursday of each month. Dates and topics are as follows:

Class Participation
Full attendance is expected at each session, generally 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Attendance at 80% of the class days is required for graduation. The regular monthly meetings, held in various locations throughout the county, include in-depth discussions leadership skills and high priority topics related to Geauga County, as well as tours and informational presentations. The members of the Leadership class will also have the opportunity to plans and execute Youth Day for the adult Leadership Geauga class, plan and carry out a community service project and plan a simulated fund raising event.


Tuition & Payment
Tuition for the 2010-2011 class is $250 per person. Limited financial assistance is available to potential students to ensure the diversity of the class. Applications for financial assistance are to be submitted with class applications. Tution should be paid by the class retreat unless prior arrangements have been made with the Executive Director. Tuition is non-refundable after the class retreat.
